Thanks to the generous support of our scholarship partners, Ladies Weekend Out was able to open program spots to women eager to grow in the outdoors while facing financial barriers. By removing cost as a limiting factor, these scholarships expanded access, strengthened community, and helped participants build lasting skills and confidence.
We are deeply grateful to Rab for their continued support of Ladies Weekend Out — from providing high-quality gear to our community to standing behind us through the past year and into new adventures ahead. Their commitment has played a meaningful role in making these opportunities more accessible and impactful.
Over the past three years, the Ladies Weekend Out (LWO) team has cultivated a strong partnership with Rab, offering participants high-quality demo gear tailored to the different activities we offer during each of our Ladies Weekend Out events. This year, we’re thrilled to announce an exciting evolution in our partnership: Rab Equipment is sponsoring scholarships for our Ladies Weekend Out events! This page is dedicated to sharing the excitement for our two scholarships for the upcoming Mental Approach to Climbing Clinic over the weekend of July 10th - 13th in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
We are launching a new scholarship application to provide greater access to our programs. Whether you’re seeking a full or partial scholarship, this initiative is designed to support your journey into the outdoors, making our educational programs more accessible and impactful. Our mission is to empower you to connect not only with the land we explore, but also with a thriving community of adventurers, educators, and advocates. Together, we’re building partnerships, deepening connections, and creating transformative outdoor experiences.
Scholarship APPLICATION PROCESS & INFO
This clinic is designed to support climbers in navigating fear, building mental tools, and finding more confidence and joy in their climbing practice — all in a supportive, community-centered space.
The scholarship covers:

Ladies Weekend Out is partnering with Rab to provide scholarships for our upcoming Mental Approach to Climbing Clinic in Mammoth Lakes, CA - July 10th - 13th. With this opportunity, we aim to create more accessibility to our programs for those in need of financial help. We understand that finances can be challenging when getting into the world of outdoor recreation, and with help from our friends at Rab, we are excited to offer two full scholarships to help teach you the skills to set yourself up for the adventures ahead. The Ladies Weekend Out Scholarship program is open to individuals who identify as female or non-binary, demonstrate financial assistance and have a passion for leaning outdoor skills, eager to solidify their skills for any adventure ahead.

To be considered for a Scholarship all applicants must meet the below criteria:
Gender Identity: Applicants must identify as female, non-binary, or gender diverse. LWO celebrates and supports individuals across the spectrum of gender identity who are seeking to engage in outdoor recreation and education.
Financial Need: Demonstrate a clear need for financial assistance to participate in outdoor programs.
Foundational Skill for Climbing: The Mental Approach to Climbing clinic is geared to add skill to take your climbing to the next level. We ask that all applicants must know how to tie in as a climber, top rope belay and have a general understanding for lead climbing. Please read through the description of this clinic for general topics covered and skills taught throughout the weekend.
