LADIES WEEKEND OUT // MAMMOTH

MENTAL APPROACH TO CLIMBING CLINIC

INFO & REGISTRATION

Throughout the weekend, we’ll explore exercises and techniques designed to help you break through mental barriers on your climbing journey. This clinic is ideal for climbers looking to strengthen focus, embrace the challenges of lead climbing, and grow as confident, attentive partners on the rock. Topics include breath control, managing fear of falling, overcoming mental obstacles on lead, and attentive belaying to support your partner as they push their limits.

The program runs 4 days and 3 nights in Mammoth Lakes, CA, and includes three days of guided climbing and mental coaching with our professionally trained AMGA-certified guides, and camping accommodations. Climbing venues will be determined closer to the event based on conditions and group needs.

Every LWO event is crafted around you. Our guide team adapts climbs for all abilities and covers the topics and skills the group is most interested in. The goal is to create a supportive, close-knit environment where you connect with like-minded women, receive dedicated one-on-one guidance, and build both technical skills and lasting belay partnerships. These experiences are what make Ladies Weekend Out truly unforgettable.

FRIDAY — Mental Approach & Movement

Our first full day together will focus on the mental approach to climbing, exploring common limitations, fears, and patterns that show up in our climbing, and how to work with them effectively. We’re honored to welcome Dr. Jennifer Dragonette as a guest contributor for this weekend who is a licensed mental health practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience, specializing in anxiety, trauma-informed care, performance psychology, and the mental and emotional dynamics that influence growth—both on and off the wall. Day two builds on the skills and insights from Friday, creating space to integrate mental strategies with movement and technique. Participants will have time to practice, ask questions, and refine their approach with guidance from the team. Climbing venues will be determined closer to the event and will be within close proximity to Mammoth Lakes.

    SUNDAY — Reflection & Closing

We’ll break down camp in the morning before heading out for our final day of climbing and mental coaching. This day is designed to revisit key topics, address any remaining questions, and support each participant in consolidating what they’ve learned. We’ll wrap up around 3:00 pm with a group debrief, reflections with the guides, and a thoughtful close before heading home.

  • All guests will be responsible for their own meals for the duration of the event. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, both at camp and while climbing in Mammoth Lakes.

Ladies Weekend Out will provide the campsites for all 3 nights.
